Stefan Konzett, born in Feldkirch (Vorarlberg/AT), studied the trombone at the tyrolean Landeskonservatorium in Innsbruck, and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Dany Bonvin. He lives in Salzburg and works as a trombone teacher and as a freelance trombonist with different orchestras, chamber music ensembles and jazzbands.
During his studies he started focussing on early music and historically informed performance with period instruments. This led to the founding of the early music ensemble Musica Antiqua Salzburg, which he is managing. He frequently plays with many baroque orchestras as „Concerto Stella Matutina“, „I Barrocchisti“ (Diego Fasolis), „Academia Montis Regalis“ (Alessandro de Marchi), oder „L´Orfeo Barockorchester“ (Michi Gaigg). He also plays with Camerata Salzburg, the Lungau bigband and the brass ensemble SoundInnBrass-Austria. Occasionally he works as a guest with the Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg.
He is a Professor for Trombone and Tenorhorn at the „Musikum“ Salzburg and at the Pädagogische Hochschule Salzburg.
